Lexington Animal Clinic provides in-house, state-of-the-art radiography. Radiography is often used in conjunction with the physical exam to aid the doctor in arriving at a diagnosis. Like human medicine, we are able to deliver advanced images of your pet’s organs, bones, and joints. We minimize stress to our patients and pet owners by using a very efficient X-ray system. We have the ability to work with board-certified radiologists.
Ultrasound is a totally non-invasive, pain-free procedure that uses high-frequency sound waves to produce a real-time image of your pet’s organs. It is often used to view abdominal organs including the liver, kidneys, spleen and gallbladder. It can also be used to evaluate heart function and other areas, such as thyroid glands, testicles, pregnancy and free fluids.
Ultrasound works well in conjunction with other diagnostic tools. It is commonly used to diagnose intra-abdominal problems and to stage cancer.
